Slade Wilson, known as Deathstroke, first appeared in the TV show Arrow on The CW, specifically in the episode "Odyssey" (Season 1, Episode 17). He is portrayed as a former Australian Secret Intelligence Service (ASIS) operative who became stranded on Lian Yu with Oliver Queen.
Initially, Slade acts as a mentor and ally to Oliver, teaching him survival skills and combat techniques. They form a strong bond while fighting against Edward Fyers. However, the Mirakuru serum, injected into Slade to save his life after being severely injured, drastically alters his personality, leading to paranoia and aggression.
